Welcome to Rotary Club am Kap (Cape Town)!

A warm welcome to our website- thanks for browsing through!
We are a German speaking Rotary Club here in Cape Town, celebrating our 10- year Charter anniversary on 15th of September 2019. As one of the founding members of our Rotary Club it is a great honour for me to serve as President for the year 2019/20 and I look forward to the exciting months ahead.
Our Club members, who represent several countries and different professions, have all pledged to contribute time and resources to educational projects in South Africa. Our two main projects are providing scholarships for South African learners at the International Deutsche Schule Kapstadt (DSK) and we also contributed to and facilitated the building of the Pre-Primary School in Hangberg, a suburb of Hout Bay.
Both of these signature projects would not have been possible without our strong relationships to international Rotary Clubs and their support and contributions: RC Neuss, RC Germering, RC Landshut-Trausnitz and RC Eggenfelden-Pfarrkirchen. Building international relationships has been one of our strong points over the last decade, and we will continue to nurture those connections, which fits in well with the spirit of this year’s theme: Rotary connects the world!
We warmly invite all Rotarians, and those who are interested in supporting Rotary, to our meetings. We meet twice a month, every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, 18h00 for 18h30 until 20h00, at the Winchester Mansions Hotel in Sea Point. Our Club meetings are held in German, but when international guests or speakers attend, we happily change to English, so feel free to visit us – but please let our Secretary Herbert know secretary@rcamkap.com
Bringing this year’s Rotary theme and the themes of the last two years together, I wish all of us for the coming 12 months that we will be Making a Difference and continue to Be The Inspiration as Rotary Connects The World!
Johannes Kraus
President of RC am Kap 2019/20
