Matching Grant for ZA – Zoom Along

In our last update, I reported that our project “ZA – Zoom Along” was about to commence. We have selected three gifted kids from needy families to support through their high school years.

It has turned out that “Zoom Along” has become a highly international project: besides RCs am Kap and Neuss/Germany, who actually initiated the concept last year, we have now also been joined by RCs Antwerpen-Oos/Belgium and Romilly/France. Last but not least, the Rotary Foundation from the USA has stepped in and awarded the project a matching grant. This is the second matching grant for a RC am Kap project this year.

This means that Zoom Along is now spanning four clubs from four countries and (incl. RF) three continents!!

On February 9th we invited the three pupils, all girls, with their families to our weekly meeting in order to introduce them to Rotary and to our club. It was a very joyful event, just read on in the next article.
